The Albany Babe Ruth (ABR) League welcomes you all to its new web site. We will use this site to keep you and our community up-to-date with news and happenings related to the baseball season as well as its teams and players. The ABR was established in 1956 and provides opportunities for young persons in the City of Albany NY to enjoy the game of baseball.

League News:

The 2010 regular season ended in mid-June. The Cubs finished in first place in the Babe Ruth division, with a 10-4-1 record, 2 games ahead of the Cardinals. The Dodgers finished in first place in the 13-prep division, with a 9-3 record. Both divisions' play-offs concluded on June 26. In the 13-prep division, the Dodgers defeated the Giants in the final game. In the Babe Ruth division, the Cardinals prevailed in an epic battle with the Cubs, finally taking it 9-7 in 12 innings.

Albany's Mickey Mantle (16U) team recently finished its regular season in the Eastern New York Mickey Mantle League (ENYMM) with a 13-6 record, fourth among the ENYMM's 20 teams. Albany thus qualified to play in the Upper New York State Mickey Mantle tournament, July 15-18. The double-elimination tournament will be held across several host sites in the Capital District, including our home field at Albany Babe Ruth. Fifteen teams from across upstate New York will vie for the opportunity to advance to the regional tournament.
